ATTENDING TRAINING
Please read the information on our website and ensure you are familiar with the protocol for attending training. http://www.loughreaathleticclub.com/
Also please note
Parents of younger kids must remain at the track for the duration of the training session.
Again, the club depends on the support and help from parents so if your child is involved in training we would appreciate parents getting involved in coaching and assisting. You just need to be garda vetted beforehand, please contact the club or any of the coaches at these sessions.

COVID 19 UPDATE PHASE 3
Dear Member.
Thank you all for your patience, we have been working hard to get things up and running again albeit in a restricted capacity.
We are planning on opening Bushfield for Juvenile / Fit4Life and Senior Training sessions ONLY until further advice from Athletics Ireland.
At this stage only members over 13 years old and under 70 years old can use Bushfield.
Training Times can be found on our Website www.loughreaathleticclub.com and will be updated as much as possible with the latest training times and dates. We are still working with our Coaches to put times in place in all sections.
Unfortunately we have had to put in place a lot of protocols and guidelines and it is essential that everybody using the grounds comply.
Please do not come to Bushfield if you have been in contact with anyone that has or suspects that they may have Covid within the last 14 days. Or have returned from a trip abroad in the last 14 days.
Please do not attend if you feel unwell in any way.
All athletes have a responsibility to ensure that the club has up to date contact details, phone number and email for contact tracing if required.
All athletes have to pre-book their session on the on-line app 24 hours in advance using the following link- https://membership.athleticsireland.ie/reservation.html .
An online tutorial is available at https://youtu.be/r-6JstS0qkY .
You will need your Athletics Ireland life membership number. This can be found on the confirmation email you received when renewing your membership. If you have any problems please contact us.
After booking you will receive a confirmation email you must bring this to Bushfield with you..
If you are planning on training with a group (max 15) you must complete booking for all training with you.
Please travel to Bushfield alone or with members of your household.
The clubhouse, toilets and dressing rooms are unavailable at the moment so please use toilet facilities at home and arrive in a training kit changing shoes in the car if required.
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your session having sanitised hands etc.
All athletes are to carry their own hand sanitiser and antiseptic wipes along with water and other personal equipment. There is to be no sharing of any equipment.
On arrival you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire please bring a pen with you. A coach will also take your temperature. Athletes who answer yes to any questions or have a temperatures over 38 degrees will be sent home
When arriving at car park please try and park at a distance from other cars. If for any reason please allow time for other people to exit or enter their car.
Social distancing of 2m MUST be maintained at all times. If running in single file leave more than 2m between you and the person in front of you.
Remember cough/sneeze etiquette, no spitting or snot rockets please.
All rubbish bins will be removed, you must take all your rubbish with you to dispose of at home.
At the end of the training session please leave promptly.
If you witness anyone using Bushfield not following the guidelines please remind them and if necessary please notify the club.
If you become unwell please contact your GP and notify the club.
These guidelines may change as we get more advice from the HSE and Athletics Ireland. Hopefully in a positive way
Further information can be found on the Athletics Ireland website
Please remember that we are working with a reduced number of coaches who now have increased responsibilities and workload to provide training sessions. Due to this session format, times and frequency may be different from before.
COVID-19 UPDATE for Juvenile and Senior members, coaches & Volunteers
Hi All,
You may have seen the press release from Athletics Ireland stating that club training may return from next Monday, the 18th of May, so we would like to update all our members on the status of training in Loughrea AC. The AAI Announcement was only to say that clubs may return to activity under strict conditions in very small controlled groups, and where the facilities where training occurs can be properly monitored and controlled by the club. AAI has detailed the restrictions clubs, coaches, members and volunteers must adhere to before club activities can resume, and unfortunately we are not in a position to meet these requirements at this time.
The easing of restrictions that are due to come into effect on Monday do not allow for a club like Loughrea AC to return to training as yet, as it is not safe or workable to do so. We would love to see everyone back training especially with the good weather, however it is just not safe to do so as yet. The health, safety and wellbeing of all our members, coaches, volunteers and everyone associated with Loughrea AC will always be our number one priority and until such time as sufficient protocols around hygiene, social distancing, contact tracing, etc. are properly in place the grounds at Bushfield will remain closed and Training suspended.
There are still many other factors restricting us and we do not know at this time when it is possible and more importantly safe to return. However please be assured that we are working to resume activities as soon as it is possible and safe for all. We will notify everyone via email, Facebook and website and aim to give as much advance notice as we possibly can. Please note the club does not endorse and can not facilitate ad hoc training groups as these are not covered by insurance.
Please continue to train alone or with family household members only and follow the HSE guidelines on social distancing to maintain your safety when you are out and about. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during these unprecedented times and please be assured we are working hard to ensure Loughrea AC will be back up and “Running” as soon as possible.
We look forward very much to seeing you all then!
Stay Safe
